Engine Bay
As it was on arrival; we'll be removing the engine & gearbox before stripping the bay for some remedial work.

This area of the bulkhead has corroded through but has been filled with something from the inside.

This is all aftermarket sound deadening which has been stuck over previous repair work.

Some well sculpted bathroom sealer work here; not a Vauxhall option that's for sure!!

Looks like we may have to go a lot further than intended with this GTE!!
Engine Stripdown
The engine turned out to be a later example from a Cavalier so a genuine MK1 GTE engine is on its way.
Replacement Short Engine
A new short engine was sourced in Europe by the Owner & arrives with us.
Replacement Short Engine
The engine is stripped & will be hot washed & checked given how long it has stood.
Pistons & RIngs
After cleaning; the block is rebuilt & here a new set of pistons fitted.
Engine Build
All the aluminium parts have been vapour blasted prior to assembly.
Gearbox Casing Parts
The gearbox casing is also going to be vapour blasted to clean off years of grime.
